I’ve Never Finished a Digital Course
Knowledge-hoarding, guilt, and why my work will never be one-size-fits-all...
Confession time: I’ve signed up for more 21-day somatic resets, manifestation deep-dives, and breath work courses than I can count. I usually make it through the first module or two, get a sense of the concept, then bounce.
For a long time, I thought this made me flaky or undisciplined. But I’ve realized that this looping narrative was creating an energy leak that was affecting how I perceived myself as a professional. I hadn’t realized how heavy the guilt of not completing these courses was weighing on me and my confidence.
While I crave knowledge (I’m definitely a knowledge hoarder, if that’s a thing), I tend to grasp concepts quickly and bounce the second something feels too one-size-fits-all. I know there’s more insights to glean, but I’m also a generator who’s nature is to immediately respond to this input by applying the concepts to real-life.
From course dropout to clarity coach
Despite this weird love/hate relationship with them, I’ve caught myself debating going down the coaching-rabbit-hole of creating my own digital course far too many times (Yes, I have one outlined. No, I’ll probably never launch it).
Could it be helpful for others? For sure! But I know where my magic lies, and it’s not in blanketing concepts. I’m best in the moment.
What lights me up is being inside the conversation with someone, connecting their dots, translating complexity into clarity, and following my intuition real-time with another person. I thrive on the energy of co-creation, dialogue.
And when we both feel the shift? That’s why I coach.
I’m fascinated by what makes each of us so unique. That’s why I’ve always loved astrology. It’s why I’m so drawn to theories like Human Design, The Enneagram, Gene Codes… I get high on social psychology.
How unfinished modules led me back to my magic
I’ve come to accept that my work is never going to be about delivering a standard framework or another rigid system. It is always going to be about customizing the process to the human in front of me so they walk away feeling lighter, clearer, and actually SEEN.
There is so much empowerment and activation that comes from being seen!
That’s why I love creating Source Signatures. Each one is alive, intimate, and completely unique. No template could ever replicate the experience of holding a custom-made map made of you.
But more than creating them, I love the conversations that happen after they’ve been received and poured through. I recently had a Clarity Session where the client showed up with countless stickies and margin notes, ready to explore how she should apply those insights into her work and motherhood. I live for this.
If my digital course woes sound familiar, I hope it helps to know you’re not alone. You probably just need a different way of working through your growth. Specifically, one that honors your beautiful individuality instead of trying to squeeze you into someone else’s framework.
Because guess what? We don’t need more generic frameworks.
Understanding my own energy, unique gifts, and how I process information has made a world of difference in my own life.
That’s why I do the work I do. It’s why my 1:1 coaching, Clarity Sessions, and Source Signature exist.
Speaking of the shift when you both feel it… it’s been so magical when those have happened in our sessions. It’s truly lit me up!!
Ugh I rarely finish them too - even live ones. And I feel the guilt! Thinking about why from a new perspective is so helpful
